OUR FARM

ROOTED IN LOVE

In 2021 we embarked on an exciting journey of becoming first-generation blueberry farmers on the land that was previously crop farmed by Eric's grandpa and uncle. With a deep sense of pride and responsibility, we are committed to cultivating this land using sustainable and eco-friendly practices. By harnessing the natural resources and working hand in hand with nature, we aim to deliver the absolute finest and most flavorful blueberries while remaining true to our roots. We welcome you to our little slice of heaven, where the legacy of family and the love of blueberries come together.

Built from the ground up

In the summer 2024, Eric dedicated several months to hand-building a post-frame shed he designed to resemble a classic barn commonly found in our area of the midwest. This project was not only an effort in craftsmanship but also a strategic addition to the blueberry farm. The new structure serves as storage for equipment and a dedicated sales area, providing a space to interact with customers as they purchase freshly harvested blueberries and other products.

The design process involved months of meticulous planning, ensuring that the shed blended seamlessly with the farm. Each component was thoughtfully selected to create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. The porch that provides shade for our customers was constructed from rough sawn timbers from a local sawmill and held together with traditional hand-cut mortise and tenon timberframe joinery.

The shed has transformed the farm and now provides a fantastic backdrop for families looking to enjoy a day at the farm, pick their blueberries, and bring home a taste of Pickablue Farm.
